  मुलाखत Interview मुलाखतीचा अर्थ ( Meaning of Interview) सेल्टिज , जहोडा , डवाइश आणि कूक यांनी Research Methods in Social Relation' या ग्रंथात पृष्ठ क्रमांक २३६ वर जी. डब्लू. ऑलपोर्ट ( G.W.Allport) यांचे एक विधान नमूद केले आहे. हे विधान मुलाखतीचे महत्त्व प्रतिपादन करणारे आहे. जी. डब्लूय ऑलपोर्टच्या मते , “ जर तुम्हाला लोकांच्या भावनाबद्दल अनुभवाबद्दल त्यांच्या स्मरणशक्तीबद्दल त्यांच्या संवेग आणि प्रेरणाबद्दल काही जाणून घ्यावयाची इच्छा असेल तर तुम्ही त्याबद्दल त्यांनाच का विचारीत नाही."
